Bold? Yes, but let us explain...

It's no secret that there are numerous problems that we all face on a daily basis in our culture. Things such as: anger, isolation, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, hatred, fear, worry,  division, and bitterness just to name a few.

It's time for the Church to step up. It's time for Christians to...live like Christ.

Christianity is not a passive religion. Christianity is all about living on mission, putting others first, and meeting their needs above our own. It's about reflecting the love, the grace, the compassion, the mercy, and the character of Jesus Christ. The Christian lifestyle is one that seeks to combat all of the problems above, as well as so many others. When the Church is following the example of Jesus, and the example of the great men and women of faith who were first called "Christians", everything changes.

When Christians live with the intentionality that we read about in the Bible, culture is changed - lives are changed.

So what exactly do we mean by Christianity Kills?

Glad you asked. It is a phrase that brings attention to the fact that the Christian walk is supposed to be one which helps reflect on the problems that we see in our culture, and actually does something to solve them.

First and foremost, Christianity kills because Jesus Christ, the Son of God, willingly gave up His life when He was sacrificed on the Cross by the very people He created and came to save. We have a sin problem, so Jesus left Heaven and took on all the limitations of a man. Fully God, yet fully man. As a man, He perfectly lived out the law of God (the Torah), living a sinless life, which is what qualified Him to serve as the perfect sacrifice for all of mankind. Jesus' sacrifice serves as the way you and I have the offer to be forgiven of our sins. That's a choice that we must make though.

Secondly, Christianity kills because for those who accept Jesus' sacrifice, and submit to Him as Lord and Savior, we are called to put to death our old self. In other words, our life no longer belongs to us, we are raised to walk a new life as a new creation. We put aside all of our old, selfish desires and way of life, and we humble ourselves, seeking to follow God and His plan as we look to live our lives in a manner that will point others to Him.

As for all those problems mentioned above...

Pastor Steve will be starting a series on Easter Sunday that breaks down this phrase, this idea, this lifestyle as he shows how this theme can be found all throughout the Bible. Here are some of the messages that Steve will be preaching on over the many months during our gatherings.
