Our Journey Continues

Often times, when God gives His people a mission, it requires a great deal of patience. Noah spent many months building the Ark. Moses led the people of Israel for over 40 years before they arrived in the promised land. David had to wait years after he was annointed before becoming King. Jesus was 30 before He started His ministry which changed tha course of history! Here at Ever Rise Church, our story is not so different...we are emerging from very humble beginnings. It all started when God placed a burden on one family's heart to see a new work begin in Cartersville, GA. Many things have taken place underneath the surface over the last coule of years as God has been leading and directing the start of our church.

Especially in our culture, exercising patiences can be extremely difficult. We can drive to a restaurant, and within a few minutes of ordering, have a complete meal. We can order something off an online retailer, and it arrives at our doorstep the next day. When that album, or latest video game drops, we don't even have to leave our room and drive to the store, because we can download and stream it directly to our devices. Patience is hard, but most of the time, patience is required when God calls us to things, because He is preparing us, and working things out that we couldn't even imagine.

One can do a quick search online and see countless verses in the Bible about patience. It is quite clear that God calls His people to be patient as we wait upon Him. However, I would like to turn our attention to one verse in particular:

When Paul wrote these verses, he wrote them to a people who knew persecution and difficulties. He himself, knew all too well the storms that this life can throw at us. Even in the midst of the craziness of this world, Paul still calls for us to focus on God, and trust in Him, as we wait patiently for His plans to be carried out. Starting a church is not easy, nor is it immediate. There are many things that have to happen, and most of the time, these things require time. However, we can rest assured that God is the one who is starting this church. We can take heart, and know without the shadow of a doubt that God's plans for our church will happen. Even though it's taken many months, God has been nothing but faithful to us and our church, and now we are beginning to see some of the growth!

For you see...what started as a burden, has now been birthed into a church. God was not just working in the heart of one couple, He has been stirring in the hearts of individuals and families all around Cartersville to be a part of what He is starting. He has placed a burden on many in our community who want to see a church who cares for, and serves those in our community with great love and compassion. He is bringing people together who wish to see the message and the love of Jesus Christ shared with those who do not have a relationship with Him. As He builds this body, God is bringing people just like you to be a part of, and support the work of this church in a small town in NW Georgia.

For everyone who has been a part of this process, thank you! It takes a lot of hard work and patience, but we know that it will pay off in the end.
